Design Committee
The Azalea Park Design Committee works to make Azalea Park a more beautiful and inviting place for all members of the community. One of the major projects of the Design Committee is to create neighborhood identification signs/structures to be placed in the park and at the entrances to the neighborhood (see renderings below.) The Committee also works on other projects including community art, neighborhood beautification, pedestrian safety, and writing grants to pay for these improvements.
The Design Committee meets on the 1st Thursday of each month at 6:30pm. Please contact us at acybulskis@hotmail.com if you would like to get involved.
Our Mission Statement:
The Azalea Park Design Committee is a recommending body to the Azalea Park Neighborhood Association dedicated to the enhancement of the visual landscape of the community, appropriate use of public spaces, and promoting the safety, access, aesthetics, and function of neighborhood amenities. The design committee pursues the ideals of participation, diversity, acceptance, inclusion, and celebration in all its activities.
Below is the final Harmon Nelson design approved by the Azalea Park Neighborhood Association and the Azalea Park Recreation Council. The image depicts a community gathering area designed for the corner of Poplar and Violet on the park grounds. The surfaces of the pieces will covered with mosaic created by the Azalea Park residents.
